Time Warner Cable has added 17 new channels to its TWCableTV app for the iPad. The channels, which were added overnight, include sports, news and public affairs networks. Also included are TWC's local news channels in each market where they are available. Customers will receive all of the available networks that are included in the cable package to which they subscribe.Yesterday, the MSO removed a dozen channels from its iPad app lineup in response to complaints from Fox Cable, Viacom and Discovery. For more, see this blog posting from TWC.In its official statement, Time Warner Cable said, in part, "We have decided to focus our iPad efforts on those enlightened programmers who understand the benefit and importance of allowing our subscribers -- and their viewers -- to watch their programming on any screen in their homes."
