At the SCTE/ISBE Cable-Tec Expo in Denver, MetaGeek, a provider of WiFi visualization and troubleshooting solutions, launched inSSIDer Technician, intended for deployment, troubleshooting and optimizing wireless networks.

"High performance WiFi has become a key source of differentiation for service providers, but has also created significant operational challenges. Ensuring a wireless network has been properly deployed is critical to maintaining customer satisfaction and reducing operational expenses," said Peter Vomocil, chief marketing officer at MetaGeek. "Based on data provided by the roughly 3,500 technicians currently using the platform, our partners have seen an average 29% reduction in WiFi-related truck rolls and a 21% average reduction in WiFi-related support calls."

inSSIDer Technician is designed to enable users to detect real-time interference, locate dead spots, optimize access point placement, and determine optimal channel selection. It also allows room-by-room scans that utilize a built-in recommendation engine to guide the user in issue resolution. That data is then uploaded to MetaGeek's cloud platform to be analyzed and utilized by technical operations and customer support teams as requested by the client.
