Lindsay Broadband (www.lindsaybroadbandinc.com) announced fiber backhaul for its strand mounted access points available in 802.11 a/b/g/n. Lindsay's strand mounted access point models WAZU and SMHAP now have an integrated fiber-to-Ethernet media converter available in fixed or SFP-based standard wavelengths and all the CWDM colors. The outdoor hardened access points are intended for reaching customers previously out of reach with a deployment velocity of less than one hour. Cross rivers, roads, railway right of ways, parking lots and other private properties without licenses, permits and no digging, according to the vendor. The company will be showing the products at SCTE (www.scte.org) Cable-Tec Expo next week.
