DirecTV's nomad mobile video play is available either as a standalone device or as a free downloadable app for smartphones, PCs and tablets. It's intended to let subs sync their HD DVRs with cell phones, laptops or tablets and view up to 20 hours of recorded programs anywhere. No Internet connection is required after the content's downloaded to the appropriate device. Versions for Mac computers, iPads and Android devices aren't yet available.
