Sterlite Technologies Aerial Fiber Distribution Hub (A-FDH) is a strand-mounted enclosure designed for fiber termination and optical splitting in PON-based FTTH (Fiber to the Home) networks. Purpose-built for overhead fiber networks, the A-FDH mounts directly to the messenger strand of existing aerial infrastructure using an offset bracket, eliminating the need for ground space or permitting delays associated with traditional cabinets. This design makes it ideal for aerial installations in towns, suburbs, and rural areas where pole infrastructure already exists, but ground installations are not viable. By hanging securely to a strand instead of directly on a pole, the A-FDH avoids pole attachment fee complications, minimizes environmental exposure, and speeds up installation without compromising network performance. Alternatively, it can be mounted on the ground in a typical “doghouse” style pedestal. Available in 144- or 288-port configurations, the A-FDH supports both centralized and distributed split architectures with 10 splitter slots and 1x32 splitters (factory-installed or customer-loaded).
