2 July 2003 Fuzhou Fujian, China Lightwave -- Fiber-optic component manufacturer and supplier Koncent Communication Inc. has announced Telcordia qualification of its optics contact air-space Etalon.

Koncent's air-space Etalons significantly improve thermal stability and reliability, say company representatives. The devices are based on Koncent's unique manufacturing process, optical bonding and Epoxy-free package technologies, and advanced test equipment.

The new air-space etalon have also passed the Bellcore 1221 test; reliability reports are available for customer reference.

Air-space Etalons feature low wavefront distortion, low insertion loss, and easy tunability. They are commonly applied in fiber communications such as WDM networks, tunable filter, chromatic dispersion compensation, and wavelength lockers.
