Datasweep, Inc., a provider of real-time collaborative manufacturing solutions, announced that Onetta, Inc., a developer and manufacturer of intelligent optical engines, has selected the Datasweep solution to manage its manufacturing operations. Datasweep will be integrated into J.D. Edwards OneWorld and Agile Software's Agile Anywhere to provide Onetta with a fully integrated supply chain solution. Onetta develops and manufactures intelligent subsystems for optical network equipment manufacturers and network service providers deploying regional, nationwide and global optical networks.
Onetta selected Datasweep Advantage as a software solution that integrates plant floor operations, quality control, return material authorization and repair processes, and complex analysis capabilities across the entire product lifecycle - from new product introduction to end of life.
Datasweep will provide Onetta with complete visibility into and control of the quality and work in process throughout its manufacturing operations. Datasweep will also enable Onetta to capture and access detailed "as built" and "as maintained" device history records of all specific components within final finished units throughout their lifecycle. Onetta will use current and historical production data stored in Datasweep's integrated datamart to perform complex analysis on high volumes of production information to identify high impact component design or manufacturing process improvements.
As part of Onetta's integrated supply chain visibility strategy, Datasweep will work with J.D. Edwards and Agile to link planning and design information to manufacturing and repair data. Datasweep's integration with J.D. Edwards will help provide more accurate data on plant capacity and yields to improve production planning and procurement. The integration with Agile ensures that critical product content is communicated to the plant floor in real-time to manage changes and improve time-to-volume. The combination of these three solutions will result in continuously improved product quality, reduced inventory and increased cost savings for Onetta.
