Hyundai Electronics changes name to Hynix Semiconductor, launches new semiconductor company

Apr. 10, 2001--Hyundai Electronics America (HEA) announced that its parent company, Hyundai Electronics Industries Co. Ltd. (HEI) of Ichon, Korea, has officially changed its name to Hynix Semiconductor, Inc.

Hyundai Electronics America (HEA) announced that its parent company, Hyundai Electronics Industries Co. Ltd. (HEI) of Ichon, Korea, has officially changed its name to Hynix Semiconductor, Inc. The new corporate identity represents a return of the company to its core competencies of DRAM, SRAM, Flash memory and system IC production. The company's U.S. subsidiary will become Hynix America, Inc. (HAI).
