21 June 2002 -- Corvis-Algety SA, the French subsidiary of optical network provider Corvis Corp, is planning to reorganise its French subsidiaries, involving possible staff cuts of about 170.

21 June 2002 -- Corvis-Algety SA, the French subsidiary of optical network provider Corvis Corp, has met with the local workers' committee in Lannion to discuss a plan for reorganising its French subsidiaries which involves possible staff cuts of about 170.

The company says it believes it must take these steps to "continue to provide the best service to its customers, to adjust to the pressures from the weak market, and to protect the long-term interests of Corvis Group employees". Corvis-Algety is also working with government authorities to ensure complete compliance with all labour laws.
