reltec Corp. fills two management positions
Armando E. Cuesta has been named vice president, Latin America, and Susan Clark has been appointed vice president of administration, Latin America, both by reltec Corp., Cleveland, OH. Cuesta has held various senior management positions with worldwide responsibilities, primarily in high-technology industries. Most recently, he was president of eci Telecom Americas Inc. Clark has worked at reltec for 11 years, most recently as general counsel and secretary of reltec Holdings Inc. and reltec Corp.
Martin J. Huebschman has been named chief financial officer and vice president of finance by Teltrust Inc., Salt Lake City, UT. Before joining the company, he was president, chief operating officer, and chief financial officer at Voice-Tel Enterprises Inc. Huebschman was also associated with Edge Systems Inc. Mark D. McNeill has been appointed vice president of operator and directory services by the company. Previously, he was a product group manager at Ameritech and spent 10 years with at&t. McNeill has more than 13 years` experience in the telecommunications industry.
The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (scte), Women in Cable & Telecommunications, and Communications Technology magazine have named Yvette Gordon as recipient of the 1997 Women in Technology Award. Gordon, who is the director of interactive technologies for SeaChange International, was selected for her technical achievements and commitment to the growth of telecommunications. She has been a member of scte since 1995.
Kenneth Westrick has been named president of Santa Clara, CA-based New Focus Inc. Formerly, he was vice president and general manager of display products for Cornerstone Imaging.

Gary Mayerick has been appointed president of ttc`s newly formed Systems and Software Div., based in Germantown, MD. He has more than 20 years` experience in product development and management. Previously, he worked at Sodalia S.p.A. in Italy, a joint venture company of Bell Atlantic and Telecom India.
Charles Conner has been named director of national accounts at Harmonic Lightwaves Inc., Sunnyvale, CA. He has 25 years of sales and sales management experience in the cable-TV industry. Former employers include NextLevel Systems and Philips Broadband Networks.
Reynaldo "Reynie" U. Ortiz has been appointed managing director and international senior vice president at Qwest, Denver, CO. Initially, he will focus on the company`s expansion into Mexico. As a former consultant to Qwest, Ortiz negotiated with the government of Mexico and forged a deal with Bestel SA de CV to extend the company`s network into 14 major cities in Mexico. Previously, he was president and chief executive of Sophia Communications Inc. and was founder, president, and chief executive of lyncstar Integrated Communications llc. Ortiz has also held senior management positions at Jones International Inc., US West Inc., US West Cellular Group, and International Business Machines.
