Native Networks launches carrier-class metro optical access platform

Dec. 4, 2001--Native Networks (London) announced the unveiling of three core products at LightSpeed Europe, EtherMux-M, EtherNT, and NativeView. The solutions, according to Native Networks, create highly cost effective, end-to-end solutions specifically designed to allow carriers to protect revenue streams generated by voice services, as well as deliver service-rich data services over the same infrastructure.

Dec--Native Networks (London) announced the unveiling of three core products at LightSpeed Europe, EtherMux-M, EtherNT, and NativeView. The solutions, according to Native Networks, create highly cost effective, end-to-end solutions specifically designed to allow carriers to protect revenue streams generated by voice services, as well as deliver service-rich data services over the same infrastructure.

EtherMux-M is a carrier switch that enables carriers to service a greater number of customers over the same infrastructure. Designed to be a highly efficient, multi service traffic aggregation device, it unifies voice, data, and video in one transport infrastructure. A key application is to connect geographically dispersed sites.

EtherNT is a low cost, ultra compact access device deployed at the customer premises which incorporates traditional TDM and Ethernet interfaces to enable legacy TDM services and connectivity to new IP-based services, over carrier-grade optical infrastructures.

NativeView, an advanced network management system (NMS) is integrated with EtherMux-M and EtherNT to provide fast service provisioning, and simple remote management capabilities, without the need for costly truck-rolls.

EtherMux-M and EtherNT products are carrier class transport equipment which enables the deliver of all layer 2 data protocols as well as legacy TDM circuits over the same optical infrastructure. The products feature Ethernet over SONET/SDH with 10/100 Mbits/sec and GBE interfaces, and TDM interfaces ranging from T-1/E-1 to OC-3/STM-1 and OC-12/STM-4.
