Global Crossing provides managed global IP network connectivity to The Chicago Stock Exchange, and fiber optic undersea capacity to Centennial Communications Corp.

April 12, 2001
Apr. 12, 2001--Global Crossing Financial Markets has been chosen by The Chicago Stock Exchange to provide connectivity to its customers over the Global Crossing Financial Extranet. Global Crossing also announced it will provide Centennial Communications with fiber optic undersea capacity connecting key markets in the Caribbean with the United States.

Global Crossing Financial Markets, a unit of Global Crossing Ltd. (NYSE:GX) and provider of global network services and solutions to the financial services community, has been chosen by The Chicago Stock Exchange (CHX), the second largest stock exchange in the U.S., to provide connectivity to its customers over the Global Crossing Financial Extranet. The connection will allow Global Crossing's "On Net" users to access the Exchange's order routing system for increased liquidity.

The CHX, founded in 1882, is the second most active stock exchange in terms of share and trade volume and is the fastest-growing exchange in the U.S. Brokers can trade more than 4,400 NYSE, Nasdaq, Amex, and CHX-exclusives at the CHX through a single system, creating a true "one stop shop" for equities trading.

Now Global Crossing's extensive customer base, spanning over 1,200 financial firms, will be able to immediately gain access to the Chicago Stock Exchange.

In other Global Crossing news, Centennial Communications Corp. (NASDAQ: CYCL) and Global Crossing Ltd. announced they have entered into a $150 million, multi-year agreement under which Global Crossing will provide Centennial with fiber optic undersea capacity connecting key markets in the Caribbean with the United States. The agreement enables the companies to expand their network reach and service offerings in one of the most dynamic telecommunications markets in the world.

With the agreement, Centennial expands its undersea fiber optic capacity in the Caribbean. The agreement will enable Centennial to provide its customers with direct connectivity between the U.S. and key Caribbean markets, expand the array and scope of telecommunications services it offers its customers, and increase its global reach through the Global Crossing network.

Global Crossing will provide service to Centennial via its existing Caribbean network assets -- including a high-capacity fiber optic connection between St. Croix, USVI and south Florida -- and expansion of its network through purchase or construction to markets not presently served. Global Crossing and Centennial have also entered into a $30 million, multi-year agreement under which Centennial will provide Global Crossing with services in the Caribbean.
