20 December 2002 -- Switzerland's Opto Speed has signed a distribution agreement with Unistand Technology Co Inc to sell and support Opto Speed's suite of indium phosphide-based optoelectronic components in the Taiwan market. Unistand Technology will also be able to access Opto Speed's suite of training and support services.

Opto Speed offers a suite of 2.5, 10 and 40Gbit/s photodetectors, Fabry Perot and DFB lasers at both 1300 and 1550nm wavelengths as well as 1300 and 1550nm semiconductor optical amplifiers. Opto Speed also designs and manufactures high-power, high-bandwidth superluminescent LEDs. It has also developed an Optical Front End, which combines a 40Gbit/s photodiode with electronic transimpedance and postamplifiers with differential output monolithically integrated on a single indium phosphide chip.

Unistand Technology Co was founded in June 2000 and specialises in marketing compound semiconductor materials and components.
"Signing Unistand Technology as a partner furthers our aim to provide customised and competitive optoelectronic solutions to the Taiwan market," said Johann Peter Bitterli, VP Sales and Marketing of Opto Speed.
