Alliance Fiber Optic Products Inc. announces the release of polarization-maintaining fused biconic taper couplers

(AFOP), a supplier of fiber-optic components and integrated modules for the optical network equipment market, announced the release of polarization maintaining fused biconic taper (FBT) couplers for today's high speed networks and amplifier applications.

(AFOP), a supplier of fiber-optic components and integrated modules for the optical network equipment market, announced the release of polarization maintaining fused biconic taper (FBT) couplers for today's high speed networks and amplifier applications. AFOP's FBT PM coupler is designed to meet the most demanding Telcordia requirements for performance and reliability.

The features of AFOP's FBT PM couplers include industry-setting standards in excess loss, insertion loss, temperature insensitivity and polarization extinction ratio. Standard split ratios offered are 1%, 2%, 5%, 10% and 50%, with either 250- or 900-micron fiber pigtails. Custom configurations are available.
