Call for papers reminder issued by NFOEC

10 January 2003 -- The organiser of this year's NFOEC conference and exhibition has made an announcement to remind the industry that submitted papers are due by Friday 17 January.

10 January 2003 -- The organiser of this year's NFOEC conference and exhibition, which takes place between 7-11 September 2003 in Orlando, Florida, has made an announcement to remind the industry that submitted papers are due by Friday 17 January.

300-500 word summaries of proposed technical papers are required and should be submitted to [email protected] - as should proposals for panel discussion and workshop sessions. To review the topics and submittal guidelines visit www.nfoec.com

Technical Program 2003
The parallel technical tracks scheduled for Tuesday through Thursday are:
A - Network Planning and Architecture
B - Network Design and Optimization
C - Network Engineering and Deployment
D - Network Operations and Management
E - Optical Transport and Switched Systems
F - Devices, Components, and Equipment

In addition, two poster sessions are planned, each of which will include papers covering topics from multiple conference tracks. These sessions will be held adjacent to the exhibition area and be accessible to all attendees.

At the exhibition "hundreds" of fibre-optic industry vendors are expected. Industry market researchers and fibre-optic industry trade journals (including Lightwave and Lightwave Europe will be exhibiting .

The NFOEC management Media Matrix, Horsham, PA, US, is once again expecting to pull in highly qualified attendees. At the 2002 event 38% of attendees were deemed to influence or recommend purchasing, 14% to specify products and services to be provided and 27% to approve purchasing. Among the visitors last September, 37% represented technical or engineering staffs, while 33% were corporate managers.
