- Tellabs 8100 network manager to manage new traffic nodes
13 June 2003 London--Tellabs and Ericsson have extended their partnership with an agreement to integrate Ericsson's new generation MINI-LINK radio links with Tellabs' end-to-end network manager.
The arrangement will enable mobile operators to use a single network management system across their network. Through an existing OEM agreement, Ericsson already sells the Tellabs 8100 managed access system and the Tellabs 6300 managed transport
series as the Ericsson DXX 8000 Managed Access System, part of its mobile network solution enabling mobile operators to transport extra capacity in the access portion of the network.
"We are strengthening our partnership with Ericsson, which goes back to 1994," said Anders Gustafsson, President, Tellabs International. "This proves our commitment to the market and our ability to provide world-class bandwidth management solutions for mobile operators."
The Tellabs 8100 managed access system enables carriers to introduce new services cost-effectively. It provisions a variety of business services over a high-capacity backbone network.
It includes Tellabs' 8100 network manager, a powerful, real-time control software system that supports service innovation and differentiation, while lowering operational costs and enhancing profitability. The Tellabs 8100 system is currently in operation in more than 250 networks worldwide.
The Tellabs 6300 managed transport series, a breakthrough next-generation SDH platform, enables network operators to deliver data efficiently and profitably through their existing transport platform.
Tellabs International is a subsidiary of Tellabs which provides end-to-end service delivery and transport solutions to help carriers move communications traffic most efficiently and effectively.
