EXFO launches high-resolution optical fiber analyzer

Mar. 14, 2001--EXFO Electro-Optical Engineering Inc. announced it will launch its new NR-9200HR Optical Fiber Analyzer at OFC 2001 in Anaheim, Calif.

EXFO Electro-Optical Engineering Inc. (NASDAQ: EXFO, TSE: EXF) announced it will launch its new NR-9200HR Optical Fiber Analyzer in booth 2400 at OFC 2001, March 19-21, in Anaheim, Calif.

EXFO claims that this second-generation instrument offers the best refractive index profile (RIP) measurements on the market. It has a refractive index resolution of 5x10-5 and a spatial resolution of 0.4 micron. The intuitive and easy-to-use High-Resolution Optical Fiber Analyzer provides extensive and versatile characterization of the RIP, complete core and cladding geometry as well as mode-field properties of optical fibers.

This high-end test instrument addresses two primary markets: manufacturers of optical fiber for transmission systems and manufacturers who produce customized fiber for makers of fiber amplifiers and fiber gratings. The High-Resolution Optical Fiber Analyzer can also meet the demanding needs of research scientists.
