LINMOR Technologies (TSE:LIR.), a developer of real-time performance management systems for managing the Internet infrastructure, and Avantas Networks, a provider of telecom fiber optic network test systems, announced they have entered a joint technology and marketing agreement. Under the agreement, LINMOR and Avantas will form a partnership to develop and supply integrated solutions that enable telecom service providers to proactively test, monitor and manage the performance of their optical networks and deliver end-to-end Quality of Service (QoS) assurance.

The integrated solutions will combine the network performance monitoring and management features of LINMOR's NEBULA Performance Monitor with the optical network test features of the Avantas Network Guardian product. The Network Guardian serves as a Universal Network probe for DS1, DS3, STS-1, OC-3/12/48 and 10/100Mb/s Ethernet network services. The Network Guardian is managed by Visual Guardian element management software or can be connected directly to a customer OSS via TL1 or SNMP. The NEBULA Performance Monitor is a carrier-class solution that helps network service providers deliver on service level agreements (SLAs) and provide data services to their customers. Through both real-time and historical performance reporting, NEBULA PM assists network administrators with the day-to-day management of Internet core and access networks such as IP, ATM, Frame Relay and DSL.

The agreement calls for the two companies to undertake joint product and market development activities in establishing interoperability between their products and market this solution to telecom carrier clients. This product synergy will allow both companies to offer fully integrated optical network test, monitoring and service assurance solutions for sale to the global telecom carrier markets.
