Band-X and TeleGeography announced the release of International Bandwidth 2001, TeleGeography's updated guide to bandwidth supply and demand.

The 400-page report contains profiles of over 150 major submarine, terrestrial, and satellite communications systems; in-depth comparative analysis of bandwidth demand models, including updated market estimates; bandwidth supply projections to 2003; primers on fiber-optic technology, satellite provisioning, network ends, and bandwidth traders; and strategies for optimizing bandwidth investments.

The latest edition of the report includes expanded, real-world pricing data for provisioned capacity, wavelengths, and dark fiber; added coverage of European and Mediterranean submarine cable systems, plus North and South American terrestrial networks; and a comparison of circuit costs, discounts, and buying arrangements.

The print edition of the report is now available, and the electronic edition will be available in May 2001.
