Feb. 26, 2001--Chorum Technologies Inc., a provider of all-optical processors and subsystems in the fiber-optics market, announced it has signed supply agreements to provide its PolarWave Optical Slicer filters to Nortel Networks.

Chorum Technologies Inc., a provider of all-optical processors and subsystems in the fiber-optics market, announced it has signed supply agreements to provide its PolarWave Optical Slicer filters to Nortel Networks.

Chorum Technologies' Optical Slicer filtering technology is based on the company's polarization processing techniques. The Optical Slicer filter is a passive device that combines and separates thousands of high-bandwidth optical channels onto and off a single fiber optic strand, increasing the bandwidth carrying capacity of fiber-optic communications networks.

Chorum Technologies' family of PolarWave products includes optical filters, optical switches, optical processors and integrated optical subsystems. With Chorum's products, new optical networks can be built with 1,200 optical channels that are dynamically routed, switched, provisioned, protected and restored all-optically. Chorum's solutions eliminate costly and complex optical-to-electrical-to-optical conversions, increase the reliability and bandwidth of networks and enable the creation of new wavelength services.
