Korea pact

Broadband Technologies Inc. in Research Triangle Park, NC, has established a supply agreement with Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. and Samwoo Telecommunications Co. Ltd. in Korea to facilitate deployment of fiber-to-the-curb switched digital video networks in that country. Broadband is providing switching and transport technology with its second-generation FLX-2500 to deliver interactive television and high-speed data.

The Korean market encompasses approximately 10 million households and 40 million people--almost the same size as that of a regional Bell operating company. Korea`s Ministry of Information and Communication has designated 226 regions, including major ports, airports and free zones, for deployment of full-service networks starting this July.
