Transmode announces new chairman of the board

28 APRIL 2009 -- Kent Sander will replace Rune Hartig, who has led the board since the company's founding in 2000.

28 APRIL 2009 -- Transmode (search Lightwave for Transmode), a leading of optical networking technologies, has appointed Kent Sander as chairman of its board of directors. He replaces Rune Hurtig, who is standing down, having led the board since the founding of Transmode in 2000.

"Mr. Sander brings extensive expertise in the telecom industry, executive management and the investment community to Transmode. I would also like to take the opportunity to thank Rune Hurtig for his significant contribution to the success of the company as chairman of the board and also as CEO between 2005 and 2007."

Sander joins the Transmode board after more than 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. He is currently a partner in BrainHeart Capital, Europe's largest fund (SEK 1.5 billion /EUR 135 million) dedicated to investments in wireless technologies.

At present Sander is also serving as chairman of the board of Mformation Technologies in the US. He is a board member of One Phone Holding AB and Swefour AB in Sweden, and of KPN One Phone Holding in the Netherlands. He has 22 years of experience in the US market, where he was instrumental in establishing Ericsson's position as a wireless infrastructure and services leader. He also made True Positioning into the leading wireless location network technology company, serving as a board member from 1997 to 2005 and as the CEO between 2000 and 2004.

Sander joins existing Transmode board members Simon Cornwell (Amadeus Capital Partners); Eva Lindqvist (independent); Tom Nyman (Pod Venture Partners); Alex Rogers (HarbourVest); Gerd Tenzer (Independent); and Karl Thedéen (CEO, Transmode).
