March 14, 2006 Hayward, CA -- Glimmerglass has partnered with Terilogy, a provider of service assurance software, to market and distribute Glimmerglass intelligent optical switches to telecommunications and networking customers in Japan.
Terilogy also invested $1 million in Glimmerglass to support the global expansion of the company's business. Glimmerglass says the partnership expands its reach into the Japanese market while building on a pair of consecutive investments, made within the past six months, by NTT Leasing.
"We are pleased to add Glimmerglass optical switches to the solutions we offer customers seeking to improve the flexibility and economics of their networks," comments Takao Tsubuki, president of Terilogy. "Glimmerglass has achieved an impressive reputation for quality and reliability -- two factors we value highly in our commitment to customer satisfaction."
The Glimmerglass "intelligent optical switches" are designed to provide non-blocking connections across optical fibers among a range of port sizes. The company says its switches are used to provision, protect, test, and monitor optical fibers for a variety of applications, including commercial networks, suppliers of communications products, and government agencies.
"Terilogy's excellent reputation and knowledge of the Japanese market is a tremendous asset to Glimmerglass," concludes Robert Lundy, CEO of Glimmerglass. "We're delighted to be working with a company of their stature to pursue the growing number of exciting opportunities in Japan."
