LightPath Technologies Inc. (Albuquerque, NM) signed exclusive agreements for the right to commercialize two separate fiber-optic switch technologies. The agreements will allow LightPath to broaden and accelerate its planned introduction of fiber-optic switching products to the telecommunications market. The two switch technologies were licensed from Herzel Laor of Boulder, CO, founder and former president of Astarte Fiber Networks. Under terms of the agreements, LightPath will have worldwide exclusive rights to commercialize the Laor switches which, at press time, are pending issue of patents. Laor will receive royalties on product sales.
