May 9, 2005 Washington, DC -- Teldon Print Media has selected fSona Systems to provide optical wireless connections, in order to enable faster file transfers.

Teldon says its customers use an Internet-based system to upload print files, but that moving the files throughout its wired LAN poses an unacceptable risk of data bottlenecks. Also, the company says its expansion through acquisitions required its combining the assets of four different companies into one entity, which led to a key building being omitted from the LAN. The optical wireless platform was selected to bridge that gap.

"We made the move after a disappointing experience with another vendor's gear that left us with significant downtime whenever the weather turned foul," explains Monty Wong, technology manager for Teldon Print Media. "With these repeated errors in mind, we were more than a bit skeptical about the technology, but decided to give fSONA's higher-quality systems a try. The SONAbeam's performance was obviously superior."

"fSONA's products are perfect for enterprises who must transport very large files," concludes Sunny Taylor fSONA's. CEO. "The SONAbeam series can ramp bandwidth up to 1.5 Gbits/sec, which more than matches the speed of a Gigabit Ethernet LAN network - and they can be installed in less than a day, for a fraction of the cost of laying fiber."
