Level 3 Communications Inc. (Omaha, NE) and GeoNet Communications Inc. (Redwood City, CA), a Tier-1 Internet service provider, announced a definitive agreement and plan of merger. The agreement is a stock-for-stock transaction valued at approximately $21 million. The merger is expected to close during the third quarter of 1998.
