Galileo Corp., Sturbridge, MA, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire ofc Corp. of Natick, MA. ofc designs, manufactures, and markets optical components and systems that incorporate photonic technology and optical-coating advances. Products include optical filters, optical lens coatings for medical devices, laser systems, infrared thermal imaging devices, and optical analytical instruments. Operations include diamond point turning facilities for manufacturing optical components and systems for industrial lasers and semiconductor instrumentation. Galileo develops, manufactures, and markets products based on core fiber-optic and electro-optic technologies for applications in telecommunications products, medical products and instruments, analytical detector instruments, and office equipment.
