Oak Industries Inc., Waltham, MA, is acquiring Burlington, MA-based Lasertron Inc. for approximately $112 million in a stock deal. Lasertron designs and manufactures semiconductor laser modules used in fiber-optic transmission and amplification equipment and derives most of its revenues from the telecommunications market. It supplies pump lasers used in optical amplifiers, a primary element of long-distance telephony network upgrades.
