Eva Lindqvist, head, Telia International Carrier Business Area
Eva Lindqvist, executive VP of Telia IC, has been appointed head of Telia International Carrier Business Area, replacing Erik Heilborn (also senior VP of Telia AB) who will play an operational role in connection with the proposed merger between Telia and Sonera.
Lindqvist was appointed Head of Telia Business Area Enterprises in 2000 and then Head of Business Area Equity and senior VP of Telia AB. Before joining Telia she was at Ericsson for almost 20 years.

COLT Telecom Group plc has appointed Steve Akin to its board as president and CEO to lead COLT through the next stage of its growth and development. He succeeds Peter Manning, who remains as an advisor. This reflects the "evolution of COLT's strategy and in particular the completion of the infrastructure build phase of our business plan and the increasing emphasis on sales, service and marketing," says Chairman Jim Curvey.
Akin joined Fidelity in 1992 as president of Fidelity Retail Investor Services and became president of Fidelity Investments Systems Company in January 1997 (serving as chief information officer) then president of Fidelity Capital in January 1999. He is also a member of Fidelity's Operating Committee. Wim Nijman has joined the board of monolithic InP opto component developer ThreeFive Photonics as a non-executive director.
Nijman joined Philips Research Eindhoven in 1971. He was involved for two years in international R&D coordination and was department head of semiconductor laser technology research. In 1991 he co-founded Philips' Optoelectronics business unit and was general manager until 1998. He was then VP and general manager of Uniphase Netherlands and corporate VP and CTO-Europe at JDS Uniphase. BT Group has appointed Jean-Yves Charlier to two posts. As president of BT Ignite Europe, Charlier will be responsible for ensuring that BT's European businesses meet both their EBITDA targets and growth plans. As chief of operations of BT Ignite, Charlier will oversee all BT Ignite's sales activities to accelerate growth and ensure alignment of all network and support functions.
Charlier joins from EMC, where he was president EMEA. He was previously VP Europe and Asia-Pacific of Wang's Network Integration Business then, from 1996 to 2001, president markets & sales with Equant, responsible for front-office operations.

Belgacom has announced changes to its senior management structure, including the following.
Chief human resources officer William Mosseray has become chief restructuring and change officer. HR director Astrid de Lauthauwer replaces him.
Business development director Philippe Rogge becomes chief regulatory officer.
From 2 January 2003 chief strategy & business development officer Mark Rigolle and Marc Speeckaert, CFO for the past eight years, are swapping jobs. Speeckaert will also head Belgacom Multimedia Ventures and become general manager of the Belgacom Pension Fund.
