Photop to buy coating company

SEPTEMBER 14, 2007 — China-based Photop Technologies, Inc., will acquire Optimal Coatech Corp. Ltd. (OPDM). The move will improve Photop's penetration in telecom and consumer-electronics markets, as well as adding vertical integration, says John Ling, CEO, Photop.

SEPTEMBER 14, 2007 — China-based Photop Technologies, Inc., will acquire Optimal Coatech Corp. Ltd. (OPDM). The move will improve Photop's penetration in telecom and consumer-electronics markets, as well as adding vertical integration, says John Ling, CEO, Photop.

OPDM is a China-based coating company with capabilities ranging from design and prototyping to volume production, production inspection, and test. Its offerings include telecom WDM filters, FTTx filters, and IR-cut filters. Photop pursues growth through acquisitions, notes Ling, adding that OPDM will enhance Photop's vertically integrated manufacturing capacity for photonics components and modules.
