All Systems Broadband/Gigacom Benelux BVBA Semi-Automated Optical Distribution Frame

As more and more operators move towards SDN-enabled networks, it makes sense to deploy an optical distribution frame, such as the Semi-Automated Optical Distribution Frame (SAODF), that also can be SDN-enabled.
As more and more operators move towards SDN-enabled networks, it makes sense to deploy an optical distribution frame, such as the Semi-Automated Optical Distribution Frame (SAODF), that also can be SDN-enabled. In this way, a route that does not qualify for automatic routing can be debugged "on the fly," ensuring that both packet pathways and physical pathways can be manipulated to provide best-case connectivity. Express paths can then be defined to remove loads off of critical optical switches, freeing them to provide the fast switching needed to manage the network.
Use of an SAODF will reduce opex, enable real-time service provisioning to create new opportunities and potential revenue streams, improve end-user experience through shorter down times, reduce costs as it reduces the involvements of operators and technicians, helps keep documentation up-to-date and accurate, and promote cleaner fiber management and no manual errors. The SAODF fits perfectly in next-generation network topologies like SDN, NFV, and hybrid (packet-switched) networks. A typical return on investment (ROI) is less than 3 years when the SAODF is used in access networks.Judge's comment: "This is an interesting concept to improve accuracy and reduce operation cost in fiber connections. A good application of industrial robotics."
