AFL Hyperscale, the business unit of Fujikura and AFL that addresses the connectivity requirements of hyperscale data centers and colocation facilities, has rebranded its modular data center connectivity range. The rebranding announcement coincides with the redesign of the technology provider’s website.

The wholly owned subsidiary of AFL represents a combination of UK-based fiber-optic component supplier FibreFab, which AFL acquired in 2013, and a hyperscale-focused joint venture AFL launched with U.S.-based NetIG (formerly Carlyle Network Infrastructure Group) in 2015. According to Gary Mitchell, marketing manager at AFL Hyperscale, the subsidiary sells appropriate products from AFL and that company’s parent, Fujikura, to hyperscalers and large colocation facility operators globally, with the exception of Japan (where Fujikura retains responsibility in its home market). AFL Hyperscale’s portfolio includes ultra-high fiber count and SpiderWeb Ribbon (SWR) cable, mass-fusion splicers, building entrance facility products, test and inspection tools, media converters, and more, including the rebranded modular connectivity systems.

The rebranding now sees:

  • The Ultra-High-Density range become the U-Series
  • The HDX transform into the H-Series
  • The LGX become the L-Series.

The ASCEND line retains its former name. Mitchell says the rebranding applies to the marketing of these products in areas outside of his company’s purview.
