DataVerge signs new 20-year lease to remain the preferred connectivity partner of Brooklyn’s Industry City

Jan. 10, 2024
The interconnected business and technology campus will continue to benefit from DataVerge’s data center performance and 24/7 onsite service.

A new 20-year deal will ensure that DataVerge continues to provide fiber infrastructure, connectivity, colocation, and cloud services, in addition to direct access to dark fiber, metro, and long haul transport providers, to the more than 500 companies located on Industry City's 35-acre campus and throughout the region.

Industry City, the largest interconnected business and technology campus in the United States, comprises 6 million square feet of mixed-use space spread across 16 buildings. Owners of the property, led by Belvedere Capital, Jamestown L.P., and Angelo Gordon & Co., have spent more than $450 million to date on infrastructure improvements.

In a press release, Jeff Fein, Industry City’s senior vice president of leasing, described high-speed cabling infrastructure as one of the most important amenities offered to tenants of Industry City, saying, “We're pleased that DataVerge will continue to offer secure data services to our tenants and that we will maintain the critical tech infrastructure that is foundational to business today.”

DataVerge CEO and cofounder Ray Sidler said in the same press release, “Our core mission is to deliver the best and broadest set of connectivity options to Brooklyn and Tri-State businesses. By being the sole meeting point for connectivity in Industry City and carrier-neutral, our rich ecosystem of more than 30 carriers and network providers enables us to meet the needs of local business and the technology community."

More than five miles of fiber optic cable run throughout Industry City's industrial space, with DataVerge continuing to add fiber, including true redundant paths, for fast, uninterrupted connectivity.
