Beijing Internet Harbor taps Coriant for data center interconnect

Beijing Internet Harbor Technology Co. has added full ROADM capabilities to its deployed Coriant 7100 Nano Packet Optical Transport Platforms, according to the systems house. The Chinese data center and cloud services provider uses the packet-optical transport systems for data center interconnect and cloud services provision to Internet companies and enterprises throughout the country.

"With the earlier DCI backbone deployment in Shanghai and Guangzhou metropolitan areas, we are now ready to provide high-quality data center service to any high-demanding customers throughout China."

Zhiyuan praised the Coriant 7100 Nano for its ability to help his company create an agile and scalable transport infrastructure. Coriant asserts that deployment of the 7100 Nano has significantly reduced Beijing Internet Harbor's space and power requirements while improving network efficiency. The addition of the ROADM capabilities will accelerate service activation times by as much as 80%, reduce regeneration costs for a reduction in equipment expenses of as much as 30%, and improve network reliability, the company added.
