INOC adds fiber-optic network operations center capabilities

Network operations center (NOC) and monitoring services supplier INOC says has added fiber-optic NOC capabilities to its portfolio. The fiber-optic network offering targets enterprises and communications service providers (CSPs) who need help managing their networks and meeting service-level agreement (SLA) requirements.

Network operations center (NOC) and monitoring services supplier INOC says has added fiber-optic NOC capabilities to its portfolio. The fiber-optic network offering targets enterprises and communications service providers (CSPs) who need help managing their networks and meeting service-level agreement (SLA) requirements.

INOC operates a primary NOC in Madison, WI, and a disaster recovery NOC near Chicago. It now offers a staff focused on monitoring and managing high-speed, low latency, and secure fiber-optic networks for such applications as data center interconnect. The company says its services can help fiber network operators and users reduce the mean time to repair (MTTR) faults by quickly identifying and troubleshooting issues, then works with multiple third parties, including field support companies, circuit providers, and OEMs, to clear problems. The NOC staff also will inform end-users of the issue.

INOC adds its ISO 27001:2013 certification attests to its security practices concerning the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of customer data, systems, and infrastructure.

"Given the growth we are experiencing in our optical network business, along with increasingly complex customer requirements, now is the time to respond with more specific expertise," states Brian Parker, director of Optical Network Services at INOC. "Our new dedicated optical NOC is among the first of its kind in the industry and we anticipate it will have a significant and positive impact."

INOC's new optical network services include needs analysis, planning and design, vendor selection and equipment specification, as well as building, provisioning and ongoing 24×7 network monitoring and support.
