Zayo to add dark fiber to Interdata’s network
Zayo Group Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: ZAYO) says Paris metropolitan area-based Interdata has chosen it to add nearly 50 km of new dark fiber to its existing network in France. The infrastructure includes two diverse dark fiber rings to link the systems and infrastructure integrator's data centersin Paris and Nozay. The rings will enable Zayo to reach a large data center campus south of Paris upon completion, the company says.
This area has a high concentration of organizations with fiber bandwidth needs. According to Zayo, the dark fiber ring in France will meet these needs, and present the company with further sales opportunities.
"I particularly appreciate our partnership with Zayo over the past two years. The multiplicity of the Zayo fiber network enables us to provide our customers with high-speed, low-latency, secure interconnection solutions between data centers," said Georges Agou, Interdata's commercial director. "As a result of our expanded capabilities, Zayo has enabled our company to transform and grow."
The dark fiber ring builds on Zayo's ongoing European market investments, including the acquisitions of AboveNet, Geo, Neo, and Viatel (see "Zayo Group to acquire AboveNet," "Zayo acquires London-based fiber provider Geo Networks," "Zayo Group completes Neo Telecoms acquisition," and "Zayo reshuffles, agrees to buy Viatel").
The fiber-optic network services provider says it will continue expanding its footprint with new dark fiber routes to serve companies with high-capacity communications infrastructure.
