Lightower offers connections to cloud providers via Cloud Connect
Lightower Fiber Networks says it can offer end-to-end fiber-optic network connectivity to all major cloud providers via its Cloud Connect service. The service leverages a range of options, including Ethernet, wavelengths, and dedicated Internet access at rates up to 10 Gbps, to provide access to such cloud network services suppliers as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure.
The fiber-optic network services provider says that its infrastructure, which includes more than 30,000 route miles of fiber connecting more than 15,000 service locations in 17 states throughout the Midwest, Northeast, and Mid-Atlantic, enables customers to combine connectivity among their sites with dedicated on-ramps to cloud providers.
The on-ramps can be located at various points around the country. For example, Lightower says it can connect with Amazon Web Services at 32 Avenue of the Americas, New York City, as well as 21715 Filigree Court in Ashburn, VA. It can offer connectivity to Microsoft Azure via the Equinix Cloud Exchange at 60 Hudson Street in New York City as well as the Filigree Court location in Ashburn.
"The cloud is becoming an essential resource for more and more organizations of all types. Businesses, governments, and educational organizations are all adopting cloud platforms for applications that require very high levels of network performance," explains Doug Dalissandro, chief revenue officer at Lightower. "Lightower Cloud Connect offers superior network performance for all types of cloud applications. For added resiliency, Cloud Connect solutions can be designed with redundancy and diversity. Of course, all of this is backed up by Lightower's industry-leading customer support."
