Zayo Group Holdings (NYSE: ZAYO) says it has supplied metro and long-haul connectivity to what it called a "next-generation transportation services company." Zayo Group Holdings (NYSE: ZAYO) says it has supplied metro and long-haul connectivity to what it called a "next-generation transportation services company." The connections, which include 100-Gbps wavelengths in the long haul portion, will offer data center interconnect from the client's new data center in a major metropolitan area Zayo did not identify with data centers on the east and west coasts of the U.S.

The fiber-optic network services provider says the wavelengths are being carried over routes that provide geographic diversity and can bypass points of failure. The connections offer proximity to the network edge to better support the transportation services company's customer base, Zayo says.

"Our solution, which includes diverse long-haul and metro wavelengths over unique assets, provided a significant advantage in winning this business in a dynamic and rapidly expanding market," asserted Randy Dunbar, senior vice president, Transport. "The customer required a solution that could scale to accommodate continued innovation and growth. Zayo is well-positioned to provide them the solutions that meet their specific needs -- and more broadly, to meet the growing communications infrastructure demand in this emerging sector."
