CTM, a business unit of Cable & Wireless Communications, has launched a 250-Mbps residential service over its fiber to the home (FTTH) network in Macau, a Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China.

The new service supplants 100 Mbps as the top speed available over the FTTH network, which CTM launched in October 2010. The roll out has focused initially on the most densely populated areas of Macau. However, CTM said in 2010 that it plans to have FTTH available throughout Macau by 2015.

This ultra high speed Internet connection will allow residents to access interactive services such as HDTV, video games, and communications services, to get the most out of their digital life.”
