JANUARY 17, 2008 -- Telekomunikacja Polska SA says it is ready to start testing 50-Mbit/sec Internet speed. All residents of a new building in the Wola district, where a new fiber-optic infrastructure has been installed, may take advantage of the pilot project.

In cooperation with local development companies, TP Group has installed an optical fiber infrastructure in a new building in the Wola district in Warsaw. This will make it possible to activate its TP multipackage together with the 50/10- Mbit/sec Internet access delivered with FTTH (search for FTTH) technology. The test will start when the development company hands over the flats to the residents.

Every resident of the building is eligible to participate in the pilot project, which will last till the end of November 2008. The 50-Mbit/sec TP multipackage is available at a special price during the pilot project: 49 Polish zlotys per month of use of the service.

As a part of the 50-Mbit/sec TP multipackage, those taking part in the pilot may take advantage of:
• 50/10-Mbit/sec Internet access through the Livebox FTTH modem;
• Videostrada TP;
• Video rental (over 1,200 titles available); and
• Internet telephony.

TP says it chose a new building with 265 flats for the test. As a result, several hundreds of people--especially young people who constitute the best research group for this kind of service--will be able to take advantage of the offer.
