FEBRUARY 11, 2008 -- GPON provider iamba Networks (search for iamba Networks) today announced distribution agreements with Eastele Technology Ltd in China; I&C Microsystems Co, Ltd in Korea; and Jeritronics Ltd in Taiwan.

"We consider Asia one of largest opportunities for GPON deployment," reports John Mein, vice president of sales for iamba Networks. "By teaming with three leading Asian sales representatives, we are now able to deliver our leading GPON technology to the region."

Last year, iamba Networks introduced its GPON Eco-System--iGES--which it claims is a complete GPON (search for GPON) suite, enabling telecom equipment manufacturers (TEM) and original design manufacturers (ODM) to deliver GPON systems in record time. Early this month, the company announced the availability of its iSN1000, a family of three advanced GPON optical network terminal (ONT) systems-on-a-chip (SoCs) with what it claims are the fastest throughput and lowest power. The SoCs are optimized for single family unit, single business unit, and multi-dwelling unit applications.

"Korea is already moving forward in the fast lane with several different broadband solutions," notes E.S. Choi, president of I&C Microsystems Co., Ltd. "We look forward to bringing to the Korean system vendor and carrier market the comprehensive iGES solution to enable an easy adoption of fiber optics-based broadband service in Korea."

"We chose to work with iamba Networks to bring fiber-optic SoCs and software to the Chinese marketplace, as the iGES solution is the most comprehensive solution available," adds Arthur Chau, president of Eastele Technology Ltd.

"There is an incredible ODM need for GPON ONT technology for the emerging GPON market in Taiwan," reports Samson Ko, president of Jeritronics Ltd. "All the leading ODMs in Taiwan now producing DSL CPEs are now shifting their focus to the emerging GPON market by adding GPON ONTs to their portfolio," he contends. "iamba Networks' iGES solution makes it easy for our ODM and system customers to transition to the GPON market in an expeditious and risk free manner."
