BroadLight to power Accton GPON ONT product line

AUGUST 10, 2009 -- Central office and customer premises equipment developer Accton has selected BroadLight's BL2345/48 for GPON optical network terminals and optical network units.

AUGUST 10, 2009 -- BroadLight (search Lightwave for BroadLight), a supplier of GPON semiconductors and software, has announced that Accton (search Lightwave for Accton) has selected BroadLight's second-generation GPON system-on-chip (SoC), BL2345 and BL2348, for its portfolio of GPON customer premises equipment (CPE). According to BroadLight, this relationship represents "a major win" for its organization.

"Accton is a world-leading broadband CPE vendor serving key OEMs and Tier 1 TEMs," says Didi Ivancovsky, founder and vice president, marketing at BroadLight. "A key vendor such as Accton selecting our GPON solution is a resounding statement to our products portfolio leadership."
