DECEMBER. 2, 2009 -- Enablence Technologies Inc. says that TUTOR, a French network provider, has selected Enablence for another fiber-to-the-premise (FTTP) deployment in France, this time for deployments in the region of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines.
Saint-Quentin is an area that comprises seven municipalities, 30 km southwest from Paris, neighboring Versailles and further west from TUTOR's previously announced FTTP deployment using Enablence FTTP/FTTH products.
TUTOR's plans are to surpass 65,000 subscribers in the region in the next 10 years -- a third of the region's population -- with Phase 1 of the FTTP project expected to connect the first 5,000 customers within the next year.
The service provider will be purchasing:
- Enablence's flagship TRIDENT7 Universal Access Platform
- optical line terminals
- optical networking terminals
- the Element Management Suite.
Enablence and TUTOR have established an exclusive relationship targeting the French municipal market. The system vendor's professional services team will work with TUTOR to support the integration of the Enablence system with TUTOR's current network operating support and billing systems as part of the upgrade of their existing network.
"This is now our third project with Enablence as a result of our previous experience in deploying Enablence products that meet our needs. The previously announced deployments of our FTTP network in the city of Bitche and SIPPEREC (Paris) region are currently rolling out seamlessly. It was only logical that for this new project in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, Enablence and its TRIDENT7 platform would be our pick," said Joel Peron, president directeur general (CEO) of TUTOR. "Enablence's team of experts has been very supportive throughout the process and we look forward to doing more business with Enablence in the years to come."
