JULY 8, 2009 -- ADTRAN Inc. (search Lightwave for ADTRAN) says that Peoples Telephone Cooperative, serving northeast Texas, has selected the Total Access 5000 Multi-Service Access and Aggregation Platform (MSAP) and the Total Access 300 Series ONTs for its fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) deployments.
"ADTRAN was one of the few vendors that really understood the bandwidth concerns that service providers like us have," said Brent Tennis, manager central office, Peoples Telephone. "The Total Access 5000 GPON solution will allow us to transition to next-generation services at our pace without worrying about network and system capacity. This solution provides everything we need to meet customer demand today, and unlimited possibilities for the future."
The ADTRAN Total Access 5000 is positioned as a carrier-class multi-service access and aggregation platform that bridges the gap between existing and next-generation networks. With an all-Ethernet core, the Total Access 5000 is designed to support both legacy and emerging service interfaces over copper and fiber, scaling to support bandwidth-intensive applications.
