JANUARY 26, 2010 -- Cavalier Telephone LLC in Richmond, Va., which provides telecommunications services in the Eastern U.S., is acquiring NET Telcos in Glen Allen, Va., to expand colocation and managed services in the Mid-Atlantic region.

NET Telcos provides colocation and managed services, and has a SAS 70-certified data center with more than 4,000 square feet of colocation space and managed services, including server virtualization, data backups, firewalls, and e-mail hosting.

The NET Telcos acquisition will enable Cavalier to expand colocation and managed services to its current customers, who will gain access to the data center's server colocation, remote backup, disaster recovery, and server replication capabilities.

"As we grow our mid-market customer base, we see significant demand from corporate IT departments to reduce operating expenses and avoid large capital investments," says Danny Bottoms, president and chief executive officer of Cavalier.

"At the same time customers face significant requirements for uninterruptable service availability, backup and archiving," Bottoms says. "We will address these needs by combining a managed services product set from NET Telcos with affordable, reliable connectivity using our extensive fiber network."

For existing NET Telcos customers, Cavalier's voice, data, IP and fiber network will enhance connectivity and service options throughout the region, Cavalier officials say. For more information contact Cavalier online at www.cavtel.com.
