OCTOBER 18, 2010 -- Sterlite Technologies Ltd. (BSE: 532374, NSE: STRTECH) has launched a new passive product offering for the fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) market. Sterlite's FTTH portfolio comprises a suite of passive equipment for central office locations and distribution and drop networks to connect single-family units (SFUs) and multi-dwelling units (MDUs).

"Our end-to-end solution enables fast installations, is highly scalable, and requires low skill to install,” says Oben Uluc, vice president - systems & solutions at Sterlite Technologies. “FTTH is an emerging market segment where Sterlite has been involved to the extent of supply of cable products and network integration. We would like to contribute more significantly to the network value chain by becoming more involved, from the first stages of planning and designing, prior to roll-out a project for a client."

Sterlite's FTTH portfolio is immediately available to telecom service providers, multi-service operators, system integrators, and real estate developers in India, the Middle East and Africa. The company plans to expand the marketing of the new offering for all its global clients.
