NOVEMBER 8, 2007 -- TXP Corp. (searchf for TXP) says it has partnered with ADTRAN (search for ADTRAN) to supply optical network terminal (ONT) products and outside plant cabinet retrofit offerings.

Under the agreement TXP will augment ADTRAN's GPON offering with ONTs designed for multiple targeted applications. Additionally, TXP will supply a customized family of its outside plant cabinet retrofit kits to support the deployment of ADTRAN's Total Access 5006, a carrier-class multi-service access and aggregation platform. TXP says its retrofit kits will enable ADTRAN to cost-effectively upgrade local access infrastructures for its customers by retrofitting existing outside plant cabinets with its new Total Access 5006 access systems.

Michael C. Shores, president and CEO of TXP, stated, "We are excited about our new relationship with ADTRAN, which further validates our strategy to become a leading ODM supplier of telecom technology. We expect ADTRAN will be a major supplier of indoor ONT-based MDU solutions, and believe we are ideally positioned to benefit from the rapid growth in new "fiber-to-the-home" services. Moreover, our first retrofit designs for ADTRAN are now complete and we expect our first kits will start shipping mid month. Overall, our retrofits combined with our ONTs significantly enhance ADTRAN's ability to service last mile applications."
