DECEMBER 6, 2007 -- ERF Wireless (search for ERF Wireless), a provider of enterprise-class wireless and broadband products and services, and Latens Systems, provider of software security for pay-TV & IPTV, have announced a working collaboration whereby the two companies will provide advanced, secure fiber-to-the-home (search for FTTH) systems for projects in the international marketplace.

ERF Wireless says it will offer Latens' Conditional Access content and revenue protection as part of the systems provided to its FTTH clients, ensuring that they receive highly secure and flexible yet cost-effective FTTH systems.

"We are confident that, by drawing on the experience and expertise that Latens possesses, we can supply our clients in the international marketplace with the highest standards possible," contends Dr. H. Dean Cubley, CEO of ERF Wireless. "The design and development of secure FTTH systems is an important step forward for ERF Wireless and complements our own CryptoVue product that provides secure connectivity for more general wired and wireless data networks. We are pleased that Latens will be part of this expanded capability."

Latens says its smartcard-less conditional access (CA) offers a large amount of flexibility to meet a FTTH operator's specific business needs. The operator may choose to deploy only the relevant CA components, as Latens' offering is fully upgradeable in the future without causing disruption to existing services, say company representatives. This feature assures ERF Wireless' FTTH customers that the company is able to provide a secure solution that meets their budget requirements, yet can be developed and upgraded as they add to their service offering in the future.

"The relationship between ERF Wireless and Latens is further evidence of the confidence that major systems integrators have in our CA protection technology," adds Dean Kashlan, general manager and vice president of Latens Americas. "ERF Wireless is a fast growing company, constantly looking to further its business presence, both in North America and internationally. We are pleased to be working alongside ERF Wireless to enable the company to provide the best possible FTTH CA technology systems to its International clients."
