BroadLight, OpenCon Systems to deliver GPON systems with OMCI capabilities
OCTOBER 3, 2007 -- BroadLight (search for ), provider of GPON (search for ) semiconductors and software, has partnered with OpenCon Systems to deliver what it claims is the first field-proven GPON silicon with advanced ONT Management Control Interface (OMCI) capabilities for the ONT and ONU.
BroadLight says its GPON silicon and OpenCon's OMCI management software and experience in management protocols will enable customers to quickly add and customize OMCI capabilities into their products.
BroadLight silicon and OpenCon's OMCI management stacks have been thoroughly tested to consistently meet ITU-T G.984.4, say the companies. The resultant product offering has been deployed and is servicing triple-play customers in live networks worldwide.
