Fast Ethernet media converter

s.con 100Base-TX/FX multichannel media converters employ buffered media domain technology to overcome the problems of strict timing limitations and 10-Mbit/sec-to-100-Mbit/sec migration. When installed in pairs, the converters allow a distance of more than 2000 m, regardless of the types of devices that are interconnected. The system may be set to 10-Mbit/sec operation on the copper side, where it acts as a rate converter, to connect a 10Base-T device and eventually reset to 100 Mbits/sec when the segment is upgraded. The converter is offered with one to eight conversion channels in a 19-in rack enclosure. The system is priced starting at $524/channel.
